Our Mission Statement
Bears Gone Bad is a paintball team that is
based on the philosophy where we allow anyone to join our team as long as they have the heart, the willingness to learn and
the tenacity to hang in there. We do not have age or ability restrictions. Our Goal is to promote the sport of paintball,
by being good ambassadors while at the same time having fun. We realize that first and foremost we are here to have fun and
that winning at all cost is not one of our objectives.

How we started!
by Frank Seydel
The Bears Gone Bad idea really started as a result of my son Matt wanting to be on a team, but in
order to get on a team it seemed that you needed to have experience on a team(Ever been there???). With that in mind we decided
to start Bears Gone Bad with the intention of allowing anyone who really enjoys playing and would like to be on a “Team”
to have the opportunity of joining us. As it has worked out, we have met not only a lot of good players but more importantly
a lot of good people who have turned into good friends.
Presently I am seeing a bigger picture that
goes like this: By having anyone who wants to join Bears Gone Bad we are able to field more teams, and with more teams the
players have the opportunity to get better and bring new players along. I can see a Young Gunz team that will eventually become
a rookie, D-2, D-1, semi-pro and possibly a pro-team someday. As the team matures it allows more room for new players
to come in and gain experience. What was once an idea that allowed Matt a chance to be on a “Team” has now expanded
to allow many others the same opportunity. Come and join us!!
Latest news about the Bears Gone Bad Paintball team.
Rod Everett is now the Captain of the Bears. He has been playing for quite some
time at various fields and is a referee at Sure Shot. Rod brings maturity and experience to the team. This should be a great
year for the Bears in that we have our own "Home Field" which has a full X-ball field and 6 other fields, both woods
and speedball.
Please feel free to contact Rod at everettrj@hotmail.com and let him know if you are interested in becoming a Bear. Remember all we are looking for is a good attitude and a willingness
to learn while playing and most important is a desire to have fun. What we offer is the chance to be on a team, to learn
and to play in tournaments.
Bears Gone Bad is now 4 years old which in Paintball life is an eternity. I posted this
past article to give every new player a perspective of how things can change so quickly.

Here it is, the end of winter and frozen paintballs,
and the coming of spring with its soggy paintballs. (Can you tell from where I view life from). Actually not quite 2
years ago I had only played paintball once back when we used shop goggles and pump action paintball guns(no we didn’t
call them markers back then) I thought paintball was just one of those things that people whose parole officers had taken
their real guns taken from them played.
Well here I am as an unabashed diehard paintball player.
As I look back over the last 20 months since I reaquainted myself with the sport(notice my change of perspective) of paintball
I feel as though I have been playing my entire life. When we(my 13yr old son Matt and I) started playing, I thought that a
Tippman 98 was the ultimate marker. Because of its reliability we still have it, but we have since moved through an A-5, a
Silver Bullet, 2 Spyders, 2 Impulses, an ION and a Lasoya Intimidator. This is not to mention the many hoppers that we have
seen and sold or discarded. Less than a year ago I was again talked into creating a team to play in tournaments so we started
Bears Gone Bad. We have fielded teams in 6 tournaments and wound up with 1 first place(young guns), 2 second place, 1 third
place, 1 fifth place and 1 (I don’t want to talk about it) in a 5 man tourney.
All this being
said I find that the more I learn the less I know! Seems a lot like life doesn’t it? We have met more nice people than
I can number, I have more welts than my wife could count and I have spent more money than I want to remember, but I wouldn’t
trade a minute of the time on the field or with the people.
The beginning of May marked the opening
of SureShot Paintball just outside of Yogi Bears Jellystone park in Quarryville. If you have read the article under our mission
statement you will recognize that this is just about where we started playing two years ago. The facility at Sureshot looks
to be really a first class operation with a limited addition Empire airball field(soon to be a regulation X-ball field), a
second field being built as this is being written, a really cool island field that will offer rec-ballers a real challenge
as well as those who are “tourney” players. Besides the Blue Steel field there will also be a different and challenging
“Cornmaze and Hay Bale field” to come. The best part of this facility is the ability to have all the creature
comforts including access to picnic, swimming and full bathrooms including showers. For more info go to www.sureshotpb.com
Hope to have you come and play paintball with us there.

We have in the last 3 years seen the
following occur:
1) Cobra Command-our home field become Condor, become LVP which it is today. (By the way one of the best facilities in the northeast)
2) I have become
the Vice President of Operations of Sure Shot Paintball in Lancaster. (Also one of the best-but then again I may be partial)
3) We have changed our home field to Sure Shot.
4) Our teams(BGB Militia) have won the young guns at CCPL.
5) We
have played many tournaments and placed very well.
6) My son Matt has gone on to play NPPL Arsenal
Kidz young guns and won 2nd in Boston and 3rd in Tampa in 06.
7) We have that X-Ball field!!
8) The Swimming pool has turned into the largest private water park east of the Mississippi!!
9) We still have the same Mission Plan and are growing like never before!!
